AMFI-K Conduct TOT for Bimas Kenya to Empower Institutions to Scale Housing Finance Solutions

The Association of Microfinance Institutions Kenya (AMFI-K), in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, recently held a thorough Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop for Bimas Kenya employees led by Microsave Consulting as part of a calculated effort to increase access to affordable housing and expand financial inclusion.

The TOT training focused on equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of the newly developed Nyumba Bora product features created through a collaborative design process. This product development initiative was informed by insights from various stakeholders, including clients, field officers, and housing experts, to ensure that the resulting solution is not only innovative but also responsive to the real needs of low-income households.

The TOT brought together Bimas Kenya staff members from different regions and branches, laying a strong foundation for internal capacity building. With their enhanced knowledge, the trained teams are now positioned to cascade this information to their colleagues, ensuring that the entire institution is well-versed in the new Nyumba Bora product’s features and benefits.

Moreover, the training marks a significant step toward client empowerment. Through targeted awareness and education efforts led by the trained staff, clients will gain a better understanding of the housing product, how it works, and how it can support their journey toward dignified and affordable living conditions.

This initiative is part of a broader agenda to strengthen housing microfinance in Kenya, with AMFI-K and Habitat for Humanity playing a leading role in driving innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the microfinance sector.

As financial service providers continue to seek ways to offer more inclusive and client-centered products, partnerships like this serve as a blueprint for sustainable impact.
