Participate in the Innovators’ Village at the 2025 SAM in Nairobi to showcase innovation for financial inclusion

Innovation lies at the heart of progress in inclusive finance and this October, a unique opportunity awaits organizations that are shaping the future of financial inclusion across Africa. The Innovators’ Village, set to take place on 16 and 17 October 2025 in Nairobi, is a premier innovation event during the 2025 African Inclusive Finance Week (SAM). This event will serve as a platform for innovators to showcase their solutions, connect with partners and investors, and contribute to a more inclusive financial landscape for underserved communities. If you are working on an idea, product, or service that helps vulnerable people access financial services in a better, safer, or more affordable way, this is your chance to share it with others and make valuable connections.

Organized as part of SAM’s commitment to advancing financial inclusion, the Innovators’ Village invites all kinds of innovation whether it is technological, social, or systemic. The key requirement is that the innovation must support sustainable financial inclusion, especially for people who are often left out of the financial system, such as those living in poverty, women, young people, smallholder farmers, and rural communities. Whether you are refining digital lending models, developing green finance solutions, creating agricultural insurance tools, or offering community-based financial education, the Innovators’ Village offers a chance to highlight your work on a continental stage.

A wide range of organisations can apply to take part. These include fintech companies, greentech businesses, insurance technology firms, agritech organisations, NGOs, development partners, business support groups, and research institutions. As long as your innovation helps improve financial access and inclusion, you are welcome to participate.

Each selected innovator will be provided with an exhibition booth where they can present their work which gives you a chance to talk to visitors, engage with SAM participants, and hold targeted meetings with potential investors, development partners, and peer institutions and explain how your solution works. In addition to the exhibition, participants will have the chance to pitch their ideas in a special area set up for presentations.  A panel will also be there to listen, discuss, give feedback and possibly offer support.

To further recognize excellence, the event will also feature awards for the most creative and outstanding innovations. This awards are a great way of making brands and innovation gain recognition and increase their visibility.

Applications for participation in the Innovators’ Village are currently open and will close on 31 May 2025. Don’t miss this opportunity to show what you’re working on and join a community of people dedicated to making finance more accessible for everyone.

The Association of Microfinance Institutions Kenya (AMFI-K) encourages all members and stakeholders working at the intersection of innovation and inclusion to take advantage of this opportunity. The Innovators’ Village is more than just an exhibition; it is a space for collaboration, visibility, and meaningful conversations about the future of financial inclusion in Africa.
