ENHANCING INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY: ECLOF KENYA STAFF UNDERGO TRAINING ON GREEN ENERGY PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kenya (AMFI-K), in partnership with German Sparkassenstiftung (DSIK), continues to support our members  in advancing sustainable finance solutions. As part of this effort, AMFI-K provided technical support to ECLOF Kenya in strengthening its green energy financing product.

A key component of this initiative was the delivery of a comprehensive Product Development Training programme for ECLOF Kenya staff drawn from various branches across the country. The training aimed to enhance staff capacity by deepening their understanding of the green energy financing product and equipping them with the skills needed to effectively promote and implement it.

To ensure broad participation and effective engagement, the training was delivered in two cohorts. The first cohort reached 165 staff members, while the second cohort included 38 participants, bringing the total number of trained staff to 203. Through these sessions, participants gained practical insights into the design, features, and value proposition of the green energy product, as well as strategies for supporting clients in accessing sustainable energy solutions.

The training also focused on empowering staff to become product champions within their respective branches. By strengthening their knowledge and confidence in the product, the initiative ensures that ECLOF Kenya is well-positioned to drive the uptake of green energy financing among its clients.

This capacity-building effort forms part of AMFI-K’s broader commitment to supporting our members in developing innovative financial solutions that promote environmental sustainability, expand access to clean energy, and contribute to Kenya’s green growth agenda.
